Jackets from the ANC Store

As I edited my last post, I logged on to the ANC site and I visited the ANC store. I love the jackets the organization is selling to its members and anyone else who is interested in them. Some of them are bright green and some of them are bright yellow. If I wore one of those jackets to work, I definitely would grab everyone's attention. The colors are loud and these jackets would definitely be the talk of the town. Each of these jackets cost somewhere around 1360 Rand. I would need to check what that is in American currency. It may be too high of a price and we all need to remember the excise taxes or foreign taxes that are added on to the price. I like my brown suede jacket I got for Christmas and this was found hanging at a consignment store. It is a very comfortable jacket and it won't make people turn around and stare at me when I come into the room. I don't make resolutions for the new year. I don't understand what all the excitement is all about. What is the point for staying up late to see a ball drop from the sky? Midnight is now way past my bedtime since I am one of those who get up early to go to work. Not that I will have to go to work on New Year's Day. It is just I am no longer used to staying up real late. What's up with all of these parties and getting drunk? Authorities will be waiting for all of you when they catch you drunk on your asses driving down the road, make you walk a straight line and take a breathing test through a hose. Once they can determine how drunk you are, your asses will go to the slammer and I, for one, will not have any sympathy for you. So there! Happy, happy rotten new year!

Happy New Year

I am writing, wishing everyone a happy and prosperous 2010!

Rachel Vs. the JBS

Everyone needs to check out the JBS web site. The organization made a strong response to Rachel Maddow's charges toward the group. In defense of the JBS, they opposed the civil rights' groups and, at the same time, oppose the notorious Ku Klux Klan. They neither supported forced segregation or forced integration. The problem I have, concerning the JBS is over what it was like for African-Americans living in the Southeast part of the country during the days of Jim Crow. Opportunities denied, doors were shut, and the right to vote also denied, separate schools (not equal), separate water fountains, separate restrooms, restaurants barring blacks as customers, movie theaters serving the white customers first before they would for blacks, lynchings, etc. When it comes to this, no one sees the JBS as a freedom organization. It's freedom for some of us, but not for all. I only ask the reader to log on to the JBS site and read it for themselves. The group claims they stop the spread of the communist plot of those who wanted to create a "Negro Soviet Republic" during the 1930s. How could they have ever done that? JBS was founded in the late 1950s during the days of Sen. Joseph McCarthy. During the Great Depression, many Americans were interested in the ideas brought forth by Communist Party U.S.A.. Many other Americans also were interested in what was going in Germany and the brilliant ideas coming from Adolf Hitler! It must have been an uneasy time with no jobs and long, soup lines. Just like Rachel, I am way too young to remember any of that! What is the JBS all about? It is about information they pass out about how we are losing our liberties in the U.S. and if you read and believe it, you would join them and then, give them some money. They recruit new members and Rachel Maddow is their poster girl!

The Monkey Wrench the JBS Will Be at the C-PAC

Almost anybody can be known as a communist to the JBS. The Council of Foreign Relations and anybody who is a member, including those who may be speaking at the C-PAC; The Trilateral Commission; The U.N., Dwight D. Eisenhower back in the day; John Wayne also back in the day; any civil leader such as Martin Luther King, Jr.; former South African President Nelson Mandela; our American President Barack Obama; Al Gore; John Le Carre; Thomas Friedman; etc. Rachel Maddow made some good points the other night, explaining that back in the 1960s, JBS leaders believed that the civil rights movement wanted to establish a so-called "Negro Soviet Republic" in the southern part of the U.S. Where did they come up with that? The civil rights movement struggled for the rights of African-Americans to live freely in an integrated, mainstream society. It was the Nation of Islam who wanted a separate nation for blacks, but not one that is Marxist or Stalinist if that is what they are getting at. Having the JBS as a sponsor of C-PAC will undermine C-PAC. Today, the JBS does not go after the civil rights movement. Their beef is with the United Nations. They believe that the U.S. should throw in the towel when it comes to its membership within the organization. The U.S. should "get out of the U.N." and that "the U.N. should get out of the U.S." And unfortunately, there are many people who agree with this idea. The JBS sees the U.N. as an agency with an agenda to do away with sovereign nations and its boundaries, making the whole world into one big group of world Soviet, socialist republics. They call Nelson Mandela a communist because of his membership with the African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa. Hence, the ANC is a communist organization that has communicated with Joe Slovo, who actually was a member of the South African Communist Party (SACP). Just because Joe was must mean that Nelson is, too. And as we look at South Africa today, we find that it is still a democratic country with an integrated society. Universal health care is now offered there, unlike, here in the U.S.

So, it will be interesting how the C-PAC conference in 2010 will play out this year with all of these Birchers there, such as John McManus and William Jasper. It may give C-SPAN big ratings. Many Democrats may be watching it for entertainment purposes. This may be the GOP's Waterloo!

C-PAC invites the JBS

Well, I need to go to work in the morning, but I am not surprised that C-PAC has invited the John Birch Society to sponsor them. This will be the ultimate embarrassment for Mitt Romney and Gov. Pawlenty if the JBS sponsors this event. This is an organization who still calls civil rights' leaders communists. More on this later.

Merry Christmas

I am writing wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. I have worked lots of overtime and now I have some well-deserved time off.

The Situation with Santa

Kids, I cannot seem to locate the home of Santa and Mrs. Claus there at the North Pole.
The reasons why are certain. Santa and Mrs. Claus recently had to apply for flood insurance for the home and the toy factory where the elves make the toys kids look forward to receiving on Christmas Day morning. I'm afraid it is under water since the ice caps have been melting because of global warming, something the Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, had charged Pres. Obama and other leaders of the industrialized world of causing, which is destroying our planet. Santa and Mrs. Claus no longer finds the North Pole to be a stable place to live and they find that they may have to move further south into Canada or into Greenland. The polar bears are finding less places to roam in the frozen tundra, that each year, is becoming much less frozen. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and elves included may have taken up residence somewhere else. It could be in Canada, Greenland, Lapland, or Russia. Anywhere where there is still cold, freezing weather and where there is land. Ice caps are melting, giving us much, more water and flooding in our rivers and islands in the Pacific Ocean are drowning into the ocean, affecting the lives of the peoples of Vanuatu, Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Cook Islands, etc. Climate disaster, on top of continuing a wasted war in Afghanistan, are two of the things supporters of Obama did not support him for. I believe Santa and Mrs. Claus were in Copenhagen this week protesting in the streets outside of this "conference." So, kids, don't worry about what Santa will get you for Christmas. He is too concerned about what is happening to this world and if you get anything for Christmas, it will be from your folks and please, thank them for getting you something!

How Are Things Now?

How are things now at the ol' factory? Lots of overtime during the week and lots of Saturday work. I can't wait until Christmas. In the political scene, I have tuned myself out. I don't give a crap what the President in up to and I don't believe he should have accepted the Nobel Peace Prize; not when there is a surge of troops sent to Afghanistan. There will be no air show in my town in 2010 and it is over this surge sent over there in no man's land. It disgusts me to hear what from the pundits when they talk about Pres. Obama's itinerary. I just switch the channel and watch something more entertaining on TV or work on translating something from Spanish to Esperanto. I find this much more fulfilling. I can't stand to watch him no more than I can stand to watch Bush, the previous president. Health care reform is a joke and Obama's Campaign for America I receive via e-mail is now calling this "Health Insurance Reform." WTF?
The way it is without a public option makes a sweetheart deal for the insurance companies, and will cost more for Americans to have health insurance! Progressives should never vote for this bill!

Busy Time

With the Christmas season here, with me working overtime after I got my job back, and also me wanting to take on other projects like learning an international language invented by a man named Zamenhoff, I fail to write as often as I should, and when I don't, this blog is already controversial enough as it is. It is the kind that makes all the tea-baggers mad, including conservative listeners who listen to the Alan Colmes Show. I am finding out that I am just as fluent in Spanish as I am in English. I write to a Esperanto Yahoo! group in that uncommon language about where I can find an Esperanto-Spanish dictionary. Octavio Paz was a Mexican writer who has passed on. He wrote lots of poetry and wrote short stories in poetry. It would sound better to me if a poem of his was translated into Esperanto directly from Spanish, not English. In Spanish, his poems have rhythm and rhyme. When it is translated into English, the stuff don't rhyme and like Al Gore, it has no rhythm. Fellow bloggers from Babel and Yahoo! can see that when I send them a sample. My Esperanto is at a beginning stage, so if I think of something to put in Esperanto, unless I introduce myself in Esperanto, I draw a blank. This must be how it feels to be a non-English speaking student attending school for the first time in these United States. There's isolation, can read the language but can't understand it and to translate into his native tongue, he draws a blank, then the kids make fun of him and give the tea-bagger style of ridicule he doesn't deserve. Now, Esperanto was inverted to attempt to bridge the gap between different races, nationalities, and language groups. Each group speaks a different language, but do not understand each other and as a result of incomprehension, conflict arises. Esperanto was suppose to be this language all individuals learn that would slowly bridge the gap between these different peoples. This never took on very well and only 2 million people in the whole world speak Esperanto, but it does have a strong presence in the internet and there are Esperanto language web sites and publications.
It was to never, ever replace the native language of any country, but to bring some understanding between different peoples who don't speak each others' language.
Nowadays, it is broken American English that serves as the lingua franca of the world.
But, I can prove to people that in some parts of the world like Latin America, Spanish does pretty well as a lingua franca. English, Spanish, Arabic, French, and Chinese all are languages used by diplomats in the UN, but more of them use English, Spanish is growing in popularity, French is on its way out, Chinese is still spoken predominantly in China and Taiwan in spite of the fact that it is spoken by about 1.5 billion people, and Arabic is growing. But, English as the broken American kind seems to serve as the lingua franca of the world. In spite of that fact, Esperanto is also used as such in various parts of the world, too.

40,000: the number is 30,000

As President, I support him. But, when it comes to this war in Afghanistan, I am very cautious. Because we have seen this episode before. We also have seen with Russia when its troops were in that country. We read about Britain's involvement and how that failed. Even Alexander the Great went into this region and the Greek empire failed to overtake it and conquer it. We are not going to conquer or do some nation-building, which is good to know. But, where will we get the money to fund this and where is the money to help build infrastructure?

A Reason Why I Don't Care for Mike Huckabee

As Governor of Arkansas back in 2000, he granted clemency to a prisoner named Clemens and this Clemens fellow is the same Clemens who killed four police officers at a coffee shop in a small town in Washington State. If anyone ask me why I don't like Huckabee, there is the reason. And also, he has given clemency to criminals to set them free other than just this guy and he has done it as Governor and as Lieutenant Governor.

How Right-wingers Want To Tie Hasan to Obama

To this day, right-wingers and some of those in the Republican base still insist to this day that Pres. Obama is a Muslim and since they have given up linking Ayers to Obama, they want to link the terrorist acts of a sick Army psychiatrist to the President. For many of us who have more common sense than that and who may not be as liberal as Arianna Huffington, we know this argument won't fly and that this dog won't hunt. Some guest writer writes a long article on Hasan being a "good Muslim" found in the Sunday edition of the Times Record and nothing is said about Pres. Obama. It is his thoughts about Islam and what many Muslim believe, and that most Muslims are practicing Muslims culturally, and that Hasan was only following what the Qu'ran says, without any mention that many Muslims also follow the Sunna. But somehow, they place the President into this article and nothing was written in it about him. Do you know why he was not mentioned, Mr. Right-Winger? Because Pres. Obama is NOT a Muslim. His father, the man that left him and his mom when he was 2, was, but reverted to atheism. His father is Barack Hussein Obama, Sr.! If anyone wants to make an argument that Obama's a Muslim, it is not the President who is. It's his father. Right-wingers are now complaining that we have terrible leadership in this country. Why we're they not making the same argument back when Bush was president, except for a few Birchers and Alex Jones? I guess it's because we have a man with a funny name and a man of color in the White House. This puts the nail in the coffin. Can't afford health care reform? We can't afford these two wars to continue! And wars are sacrifices that have to be made. Hasan did not want to deployed and he did these heinous acts. Who is asking that we send up to 40,000 more troops to Afghanistan? The military advisers and Pres. Obama. Would he be requesting this if he were a Muslim? Absolutely not.

George W. Bush and Socialism

Nothing personal. I am only writing this to piss off my relatives.

During his years in office, George W. Bush wanted to turn America into a Stalinist-type, theocratic, socialist state. He wanted this country to be like Kim Jong-il's North Korea. As a citizen in this theocratic, socialist, he wanted the people to either join the military, fight for "God" and "country" invading a poor, sovereign country or stay home and starve to death. Isn't that what they do in North Korea, except invade another country. Of course, in their case, set off a nuclear rocket against us or Japan only to find that the rocket backfires and lands somewhere in the Sea of Japan. In George W. Bush's America, either fight for God or him as God, or starve since public assistance would have never existed in his and the teabaggers' America.
These right-wingers are the real socialists; only they are Stalinists with a "God" mentality.

What do I remember about those years? It was about living in a constant, catastrophic mess and if it's not one thing happening, it was another. The enemy of this country were the friends of the Bush family and they were the bin Ladens and the House of Saud. After I got home from Thanksgiving dinner, I saw the movie "Fahreinheit 911" again. I have the DVD. The two wars we still have now are from Bush and here we are talking about sending more troops to Afghanistan. It is a mistake!

George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation

"Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly implore his protection and favor, and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me 'to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanks-giving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.'
"Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.
"And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the People, by constantly being a government of wise, just and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best."

This Coming Monday...

I return to my old job. I look forward to it, but who knows what I will be doing. I have been to 6 different interviews to work within the Dept. of Human Services, but if I get one of those job opportunities in the near future, I plan to take it. I'll just have to wait and see how things will be at the ol' factory.

On Fort Hood

I am writing to give my condolences to friends and relatives who have lost their loved ones on that tragic day. And my condolences to friends and loved one of those wounded by this crazy, psycho excuse of a psychiatrist!

हैप्पी वेतेरंस' डे

With two wars still going on, it's time to observe Veterans' Day. Must we have something like Vietnam, but now is much, much, worse. Is going off to war by going on many deployments and tours of duty just another government program and just another way of making a living? Has it come to that? These are the questions I ask. Also, please excuse the title. I thought I test the Hindi on this blog. Right now, I don't like it. So, I will change back. War. It's just another government program like "No Child Left Behind." I call this one, "Every Soldier Left Behind to Die." Has it come to this? What is Pres. Obama thinking? Will he go down like Johnson? Will this be his Vietnam?

November time

I have two job interviews this week. I hope they will turn out well.

Well, tomorrow night is election night in Virginia, New Jersey, and in a New York Congressional District.
It does look like a runaway for the GOP in the Virginia Gubernatorial Race. Pres. Obama and the Democrats need to be paying attention to this. Virginia is like the rest of the country, where there is a lot of revisionist history going on and folks forgetting all about the eight years of Bush/Cheney. The deficit is rising and the unemployment rate is still rising, which convinces me that we are not returning to economic recovery anytime soon. Also, there are these two wars in the Near East. Plans are there to pull troops out of Iraq, but not until 2011. More troops are to be sent to Afghanistan to fight Al-Qaida and the Taliban, while many of them are in neighboring Pakistan. Pres. Obama with this move in Afghanistan will cause him to fail miserably like Johnson on Vietnam. Many of us on the left also believe that Pres. Obama is not doing enough to bring about the "change" that he promised. Also, the left has gone critical over this move on Afghanistan as well as the right. Of course, the right believes Pres. Obama is doing too much, saying that "it will destroy America."
No, he hasn't done much and health care is stalled by Congress. Banks won't give back our money. Wall Street benefits, while Main Street falls into economic depravity.
In spite of all of this, should I bother to listen to what the tea party people are yelling and screaming about? No. They represent those that supported the failed policies of the Bush/Cheney years. If it's not all of them doing so, it is true for many of them. This is who they voted for. So, as citizens, we are in between a rock and a hard place. In spite of the disappointment I may have with the Obama Administration with his economic team he ought to replace, I don't believe Hoffman, Palin, Romney, Beck, and Limbaugh have all the answers to solve our problems.

The Craziest Definition of H1N1 Yet

Those representing the religious right never cease to amaze me. As everyone knows by now, the H1N1 virus nicknamed the "swine flu," is a very deadly, contagious disease. But, some guy from Colorado who represents the Anglo-Israel doctrine is warning his flock NOT to take the flu shot, considering it to be "biological germ warfare being plotted against God's People and their Zion land." And when he talks about God's People, he isn't talking about Jews. He refers them to the "Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, Scandinavian, and kindred peoples." From this, the reader can draw a simple conclusion on who they are.

In a nut shell, here is his definition of H1N1. What does it mean? Just take the Strong's Concordance Dictionary found in the back of your Holy Bible. Convert "H" and "One" to the word "hone." "Hone" is the Hebrew word #1952 and this word means "sufficient wealth" and is similar to the Hebrew word #202 meaning "wealth, force, power, strength." Shall I go on? "N" "One" is the Hebrew word #6373 meaning "Pinon, an Idumaean or an Edomite." Pinon was one of the chiefs of Esau. This preacher in this newsletter claimed that he once knew a preacher by that name who was accused of being a liar, deceiver, manipulator of people and who was excommunicated and ostracized by a Christian church. So, according to this guy, when you distill it down, it appears H1N1 means "wealthy, powerful, successful Idumaean." Or in other words, it appears to mean "wealthy, powerful, successful Jew," since he is anti-Semite and believes Jews are Edomite impostors. He wants us to read Psalm 52:6-7.

"The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him: Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness."

This is his reason for white people to not receive the flu shot.

It sounds like "Pastor?" Pete Peters needs to get off shortwave radio and start his own program on the Fox News Channel!

Update again

I have a job interview coming up next week and the many jobs I did apply for are jobs I am qualified to do. So, wish me good luck and I pursue this endeavor.

I do hope health care reform is reality with a public option. It is obviously that we don't need GOP support. I hope the President gets every Democrat on board on reform and after that, I hope the next item they tackle is the economy and, most importantly, jobs.

October is here

How do I feel right now? Bad. My town sucks. Trying to find employment sucks. Corporations suck. Republicans suck. These blue-dog Democrats suck. Ross Perot
warns us of the 'great sucking sound.' Well, it just came and went. Now everything
around me suck. My aunt has just passed. Please, keep me in your prayers over my family's loss. October somehow always sucks. It is the month I seem to have more accidents. The weather is a lot nicer, but we are losing daylight every day. And, God help us, here comes Halloween. Oh, how I give a rat's behind about that! Stick with me here. I haven't been writing much on this blog. I have found other sites. My Hub Pages site is where I have been writing short Meso-American stories and legends. It is worth checking out.

ACORN

The attacks on ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is really ticking me off. The video I just saw of Glenn Beck with his chalkboard of the "who's who" on the ACORN Advisory Council was the straw that broke the camel's back. Is Glenn a Bircher? This is what Birchers do. They put up a bunch of pictures together with names of people who are suspects, who are communists, who are members of the Council on Foreign Relations, or the Trilateral Commission. Since these guys and gals are on the Advisory Council, then they must be some very "bad people." The way things are going with this, these people may need to hire more security guards to protect them from the Glenn Beck nutzoids. It is up to us to get more advertisers to ban Beck's program, since Van Jones has now quit his job as the Green Jobs Czar. We have a problem here. More people are losing their jobs. I am out finding one myself. They are losing health care and people are dying while Republicans want to stall and eventually stop reform.
As colleges, vo-tech schools, and universities increase their enrollments because of many people not finding jobs and who feel they need more training, Republicans if they had it their way would like to cut off unemployment compensation as well as benefits available under the Trade Adjustment Assistance program, or TAA. We are in a world of hurt if Democrats let the GOP have their way. And when is it going to sink in for the Democrats to realize that they cannot deal with the Republicans?
Many of us if this keep going may need to rely on the help from ACORN or organizations similar to ACORN for finding jobs and adequate housing.

Where are the jobs?

The only I know to do is keep looking, keep on writing those resumes and sending those applications. My old job offers me and other laid-off employees to go back to school regardless if it is to college or to a training or vo-tech school. I have a Bachelor's degree and I intend to use it. So far, I have a growing list of jobs I have applied. I am looking to hope in getting a government job. Wish me luck! Alhumdulillah!

Idleness

"Evil thoughts intrude in an unemployed mind, as naturally as worms are generated in a stagnant pool. Idleness is an inlet to disorder, and makes way for licentiousness. - People who have nothing to do are quickly tired of their own company." - Collier

Affected by job cuts

The rising number of people unemployed keeps on increasing, although the number is not as high as it was last winter. Still the unemployment rate keep going up. We did not make it to 10%, but I am afraid we are going to by next month. After 22 years working for the same employer, I got laid off today due to production and job cuts. In order for me to continue to work for my employer, I would have to have at least 24 years of seniority to stay there drawing a paycheck. There are so many people who work over there who need to retire, but for some reason won't. They may be too young to draw Social Security and are not quite old enough to do so. Some are very well old enough to draw SS. The years of service for workers working at Whirlpool are now in a range between 45 years down to 23 years. I have 22 years of seniority but I could not stay. For me to come back to Whirlpool is for the economy to make a rebound out of the recession and/or for these older workers to retire so that we younger workers will have a chance to have these jobs. So, I have a range of choices. Draw some unemployment compensation, look for a job, go back to school and learn a trade with compensation pay, look for the job I always wanted to do with my degree, or if I were desperate, go to a temp agency (God forbid) and let these guys hand me a temp job that is not as desirable to do for little pay. I did translation work for a web site, which I did on some free time I had. But, I never got any pay for it. I wonder if I can do something like that and be paid for it. I live in a town that has a growing, diverse, Latino community. Businesses are always needing somebody ( I'm speculating ) who is fluent in Spanish. I also discovered that in my town, there is a need for Vietnamese language speakers as well as Lao. The public library's web site, for example, is online in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. There is a lot out there when I think about it. I want to be an asset, not a statistic. Manufacturing has gone to hell in this country, because companies have shipped more jobs overseas. Yeah, it may make the products cost a little less, but there is nobody out there who can buy them because they have no jobs, hence no income. It is time to look for other ways and means and time to drive on a different path. May the Lord of the Worlds lead me in these decisions.

Parras de la Fuente

I do a lot of "facebooking" now, so I just jot down something I wrote on FaceBook.

"La alcoholecencia, la chupentud, y la bebejez se viven mejor en Parras."

In other words, all people of all ages who like to drink live better in a town known by its formal name as "Parras de la Fuente" in Mexico. It's the home of Francisco Madero, a Mexican revolutionary. I remember going there and I remember the chapel located on top of a hill, and I would have to walk up that hill to make it there.

This may be a late post as we close this month of August. RIP Sen. Edward Kennedy.
It is now time to get health care reform and it is time for Pres. Obama and Congress to get some "cojones" and get this job done!

Monday, August 17, 2009

I will write something later...

I haven't been writing in this blog, because I now have a Facebook account and I use it a lot when I'm online. It sure doesn't look like we will get the health care public option, thanks to the rabble rousers at the Town Hall meetings, the health insurance lobbies, Big Pharma, and doctors will fill their patients with drugs like they were Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. They are talking about co-ops, which are cop outs. As medical care gets more and more expensive, I hope they will be looking back realizing the damage they done. I just hope that Pres. Obama does not cop out with co-ops.

It needs to be said again!

I said it in this blog and I will say it once more. Racism, wearing its ugly head, has NO place in religion. We are all of God's creation and we all come from the same mother and father, according to the Bible and according to the Qu'ran. If you follow this and believe it, there would be no getting around it. If you don't, than you must believe that all races of human beings must evolved from different tribes of monkeys. Nevertheless, I just did a Bible search on the word "race" and the word no way refers to a people or tribe or an ethnic group. It refers to track or a run, or better yet a marathon. This word is found in Psalm 19:5, Ecclesiastes 9:11, I Corinthians 9:24, and Hebrews 12:1. Right now, I will look up the word "race" in the Qu'ran. I know and I understand that translations are not at all reliable in Islam and only the Arabic is the source to rely upon in Islam. But, in this case, I'll make an exception in what was translated into English. This took me a while, because when I looked it up, I've found a lot of verses. But, it referred to "grace," as in Allah's or God's grace. Only four ayats or verses were found concerning "race" and it refers also to a run or a marathon.
These are Surah 5 (Al Ma'idah): 48, Surah 12(Yusuf):25, Surah 23 (Al Mu'uminun):61, and Surah 57 (Al Hadid):21. If "racism" is ever allowed in religion, it is about running a marathon to get to the prize, the finish line. Your reward in Heaven, where there is a garden where the rivers flow.
I am touching in this subject because there is a leader, a gentleman, who said something similar to what David Duke would say in a house of God if you will. He talked to his flock like a white man and said that "we are becoming a minority and that our 'white values' are slowly fading away." Hold on! Time Out! Since when did the Bible, for instance, come to represent "white" values. What in Hades are "white values"? A legitimate question can be asked if this was a black man expressing how "black values" are slowly fading away? What in Hades are "black values"? Who wrote the first five books of the Bible, known as Torah? Well, it was Moses? What color was he? Brown? Yellow? I never really seen a picture of Moses! In my father's copy of the Bible, there an art illustration of him. He was rather brown. It even has an art illustration of what Jesus might have look like. He was black! But, the values, if you're a believer, came from God. What does look like? Who really knows what He/She looks like. This gentleman, short in stature, apparently is afraid of the brown man and this does not fly in religion. It seethes into bigotry and this is how religious institutions drive good parishioners away. It's not so much he said it, but how his flock reacted to it where some of them started talking trash about other people. This, my friends, has No place in religion and it needs to be said again and again and again!

RIght-wingers use old Communist tactic

Yes, you got it right. Right-wingers use an old Communist tactic to disrupt town hall meetings and verbally attack congresspeople, because the right-wingers want to stop health care reform. Let me explain. A friend of mine I have not seen in 17 years brought up this tactic on how old ladies can disrupt school board meetings. They form a group of people. They blend in with the rest of crowd making up the town hall audience. They blend in, forming an arrow from left to right, and when they start to rant and rave yelling out at the spokesman from Congress, it looks like as if his/her constituents are mad at him/her, making him/her give in to their demands, which is in this instance, their demands to stop health care reform. So, this is the way they are doing it just like they did back in 1993, only they are more desperate to stop the care despite the fact the cost of health care keeps rising and rising, while more employers stop offering health care altogether or lay off a lot of workers. Of course, instead of offering what is in the bill known as H.R. 3200, why not H.R. 676, the bill that offers a singer-payer system? Nope. This is who most of these politicians work for: the insurance industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and they are bought and paid for by this entities. And as those few congresspeople who don't pay lip service to Big Pharma and the insurance companies, they face a mob passing as their constituents using an old Commie tactic to shut them up! May God help us!

What's the Hoopla...

over this darling, Sarah Palin? I go to work each day of week. Nobody talks about her at work. Why is MSNBC making a big hay about her? I just thought about it yesterday about who Sarah Palin might be following? Who is her mentor? Who is her example? Is it Jesus? No! How about Buddha? Well, she didn't quit so that she can have some inner peace. Well then, who? It's Richard Nixon. That's who she's following but the only problem with this is that Richard Nixon DID serve as vice-president in the Eisenhower administration, ran for governor of California and lost. She never has served as vice-president. She lost! And now, she quits her job as governor of Alaska. It must be the water up there. There's no way I can explain it. I thought about this yesterday and today as I turn on "Hardball," Chris Matthews was asking the same question. Is she following Nixon's example? This blew my mind like as if Chris was reading my mind. Hey, I think I may apply for a job at MSNBC! I always wanted to live in the Big Apple.

W. B. Yeats writes....

"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold
"Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
"The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
"The ceremony of innocence is drowned,

"Are full of passionate intensity."

Bernie Hoffman/"Tony Alamo" put away for good

I am quite pleased that an anti-Catholic, perverted, pedophile preacher is put away to jail for a long, long, long time. He is head of a cult who was the husband of the late Susan Alamo (if that is her name), who died nearly close to 30 years ago. When she died, ol' Bernie himself did his best to convince the Alamo "Christian" followers that Susan will arise from the dead. Of course, that is something that she did not do and her family fought a long hard battle fighting this crazy cult to give her a proper burial. But, that is not what I am writing about. I am writing about a guy who uses a phony name, a Jew, who is a polygamist, who is a pedophile, who in fact the older he gets, the younger and younger his female victims become, as young as eight, wanting these girls to have sex with them, crossing state lines to do so, and who believes that girls should start having sex as young as ten and that kids that young should go ahead and get married because in his perverted view, they are going to have sex anyway. The SPLC can back up what I've just said. As the jury down in SW Arkansas found him guilty, he was hauled to prison as two young women hold up sign saying,"bye, bye, Bernie" with a caricature of "Alamo" wearing a yalmulke.

What a disgusting human being he is and such a disgusting Jew who fits the stereotype for many people who hates Jews, who has loose morals, are cunning, conniving, who only care about money, and who follow the controversial passages of the Talmud, telling them it's okay to kill a goy, but not a Jew and that it is okay to treat a goy like an animal because Jews are the only human beings around. I do not know if the Talmud says that. Some people do claim it does, but I can't verify it. But as a disgusting human being he is, he has fit the stereotype of the "no-account Jew." He has to go by a phony name. He treats his followers like dung. They could not eat and have proper clothing unless "Papa Tony" gave them permission to do so. Stuff like this makes me become all put out and turned off by religion. May we be free from bigoted, perverted, charlatan preachers like Bernie Lazar Hoffman.

Octavio Paz - This and this and this

The original is a poem entitled "Esto y esto y esto" and I like this poem. It almost reads like "the Revolution will not be televised." Instead of revolution, it is about "surrealism" and the damage it has done.

"Surrealism has been the apple of fire on the tree of syntax
"Surrealism has been the camellia of ash between the breasts of the girl possessed by the ghost of Orestes
"Surrealism has been the dish of lentils that the glance of the prodigal son transforms into the smoking feast of the cannibal king
"Surrealism has been the balm for Fierabras that erases the signs of original sin in the navel of language
"Surrealism has bee the spit on the host and the carnation of dynamite in the confessional and the open sesame to the bank vaults and the iron bars of asylums
"Surrealism has been the drunken flame that guides the steps of the sleepwalker who tiptoes along the edge of the shadow that the blade of the guillotine casts on the neck of the condemned
"Surrealism has been the burning nail in the geometer's forehead and the gust of wind at midnight that lifts the sheets from virgins.
"Surrealism has been the savage bread that cramps the belly of the Society of Jesus until it must vomit all the cats and devils it has inside
"Surrealism has been the fistful of salt that eats away the slugs of social realism
"Surrealism has been the cardboard crown on the headless critic and the viper that slips between the legs of the critic's wife
"Surrealism has been the leprosy of the Christian West and the whip of nine cords that sketches the way out toward other lands other languages and other souls across the backs of brutish and brutalizing nationalism
"Surrealism has been the speech of the child buried in every man and the sprinkling of syllables of milk on the charred bones of Giordano Bruno
"Surrealism has been the seven-league boots of those who escaped from the prisons of dialectical reason and Tom Thumb's hatchet that chops through the knots of the poisonous vines that cover the walls of the petrified revolutions of the Twentieth Century
"Surrealism has been this and this and this"

My comment: "Surrealism is the American politics of the 21st Century brought over from the 20th where Walter Cronkite, a real newsman, has been replaced by the Glenn Becks, the Sean Hannitys, and the Bill O'Reillys who only pretend to be newsmen targeting people who end up being followed, pursued, and possibly put away.

A Christian American Prayer and Biblical Questions and Answers

The word out on the street is that this prayer is given at the opening session of the Kansas State Senate.

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who can call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
"We have exploited the poor and called it the Lottery.
"We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
"We have killed the unborn and called it choice.
"We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
"We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
"We have abused power and called it politics.
"We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
"We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of speech.
"We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
"Search us Oh, God, and know our our hearts, cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your will and openly ask these things in the name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ.

"Amen."

Quotes by Radicals about Bill Clinton

These quotes I am writing down are fine examples of attacks all Democrats receive when they run for high public office and Bill Clinton wasn't the exception. Many of these quotes are proven lies. Robert Dornan was a congressman from the Orange County area in southern California. Rep. Sanchez is now the congresswoman from there. She beat him out and he no longer could get it back. Here is his quote.

"He (Clinton) failed to show up for exams at Oxford. He failed to obey international drug laws. He failed his country. He failed his wife. And now he wants to take the oath before God that he won't fail the Constitution. My response to that is 'God Help us.' I pray that Christians will not be deceived by his guile." - Robert Dornan

Words from a lunatic? How does he know these things? Was he there?

Rev. Lou Sheldon, who is head of the Traditional Values Coalition (TVC), also has a quote. BTW, the TVC is on the Southern Poverty Law Center's Watch List as a hate group against Gays and Lesbians in particular.
Here is what he was saying they were doing back in Election 1992:

"We are contacting thousands of ministers across America and challenging them concerning this against the Church?(emphasis mine) and the Kingdom of God. The shepherds must warn the sheep not to vote for the wolf, Bill Clinton."

Who is talking about when he uses the word "Church" in an upper case letter? Certainly not the Catholic Church. The "Body" such as all Believers in Christ? The "Body" is certainly not a monolithic group taking orders in lock step from such two-bit Führer.

Operation Rescue, as we now know, is a radical right-wing fringe group encouraging their followers to assassinate doctors who perform that dreadful, horrible, repulsive proceedure called abortion. The pro-life movement has been set back 30 years as a result of deeds, words, and actions brought upon by the organization. Rev. Keith Tucci makes this quote over candidate Bill Clinton.

"The most wicked men in history have hidden behind superficial Christianity. Bill Clinton fits the mold. Only superficial Christians would vote for him. We are calling pastors to tell their congregations that Bill Clinton is a mocker of God, and therefore undeserving of any person's vote."

He calls for all of these churches to risk losing their 501(c)3 tax-exempt status to tell people how they should vote, put fear into people about the former governor of Arkansas. "Superficial Christians" were to be dealt with and sent to be hung at the gallows.

There are other quotes, but are from representatives who are less known. These are George Grant (not to be confused with Bob), Rev. Paul Schenck, Joseph Scheidler, Rev. Rod Aguillard, and Fr. Louis Marx, all condemning Clinton as the man from Hell, instead of Hope.

But, as it turns out, Bill Clinton turned to be a good president. America still has freedom of religion and the country is still here today. Those who criticized Clinton in the past and who criticize Pres. Obama now are the ones destroy this country. The Taliban, al-Qaida, and bin Laden are the ones I worry a lot less about than what I am witnessing from watching Fox News, from watching obstructionist Republicans on MSNBC, listening to certain individuals who talk politics which is tearing this country up and the concern I have on growing number of hate groups and domesitc terrorists breathing among us.

Two things that may actually happen

One: I believe Judge Sonia Sotomayor will be confirmed to the Supreme Court by the Senate. I believe she will be fair and impartial and she is well-qualified.

Two: We will have a public option in health care. The average American, according to today's program, The Ed Show with Ed Schultz, the tax will only affect the top 1.2% of Americans. In other words, the very, very rich, especially Hollywood stars and Ed, I don't care if they are taxed. Not at all.

I do not have much on the plate today. I have had a long day at work. I looked over some old notebooks and I am amazed over how I have grown. I used to be one of those radicals that I criticize about today. Things were going on back in those days I really had no control. I took courses at a community college I really didn't need to take. I wasted a lot of time and effort. But, looking back, I did receive some more extra college credits to the 120 hours of credits I already had and I was already a college graduate. It was desperation time way back in the day in the year 1992. There were massive layoffs at work and like now, we were in a recession back then until after Bill Clinton got elected president. BTW, I have some right-wing material I saved from those wretched days of old. It is an article entitled, "Why it is a sin to vote for Bill Clinton?" Yes, boys and girls, ol' Bubba himself was getting the shaft from these bozos back then like they do now with Pres. Obama. But, they thought they can get Clinton over sexual affairs with other women. In other words, they were giving him "the Monkey business," the name of the boat Gary Hart rode on with his mistress. But, they could not. And as I recall, he turned out to be a great president. I always had a job and I never had to return to school during those years.

What did we learn from Sarah Palin?

That she can't take the good with the bad.

That she plays the victim and blames the media for it. BTW, she does have some sympathizers who can't see the forest for the trees and who believes she is a victim!

That now she is quitting the governorship at the end of this month, she has no visible political future as far as I can see. But, as I mentioned in my last post, this is something we may need to look out for. Something may come up later.

And the GOP stands for "Winners quit, losers win." Black is white. Freedom is slavery. Slavery is freedom. And so on it goes.

Message

BTW, Happy 4th, Everyone!

Palin Out of Politics!

I have seen the brief video reported by Andrea Mitchell about this latest development. Palin plans not to run for re-election for governor of Alaska. I think this is a trick. I don't believe this will the last we will hear from her. It is said that she will not run for president in '12. I think she will. Why is she wasting her time traveling to the lower 48 as much as she had since Nov. 2008? I don't buy the fact that she is out. Democrats, watch this real closely. She's out, but she's not!

Some Religious People Are Really Social Darwinists

This needs to be said. Some born-again Christians and maybe some Muslims are really social Darwinists in disguise, especially if they are teaching at school. They sound like a bunch of crappy sociologists. We know how it is America. The standard we should all live up to is to be like some white, upper-middle class Yankee from Pennsylvania and we are supposed to talk like him, too. They believe whites are more superior than blacks and/or Latinos. They believe that western Arkansas is much more superior to eastern and central Arkansas. Whatever it is, they got some beef about a group of people whether it's one group or the other. Go to a Sunday School class at church and you may endure a little bit of politics. That doesn't bother me. What concerns me is when you have a religious leader who heads the music department, and when you get ready to practice your choir music, you hear about school because he is a teacher and you hear about how some students don't match up to other students. He argues that they don't have the discipline. I thought that's what kids are there at school for, to be taught the things they need to know and to be taught discipline. Am I missing something? But, when or if they go on about intelligence, this is where I draw the line. It is not because the kids are stupid; it is because they are lazy or their parents don't discipline them at home. I have heard this "bell curve" argument go on and on and on with some church members reaffirming their old time racist beliefs and I don't believe racism and religion go together. There is no place for racism in any religion. Banning books is something I will always fight against. This is the reason I did not want Palin anywhere near the White House. There is one book I might ban and that is the book entitled "The Bell Curve," a book about how whites are better at this, how Asians are better at that, how black men have the biggest penises, and how Asian men have the smallest. It is a book I like to use as something I throw with. Just throw it from one place to another. Without the skin, we are all the same basically. The bones are bone white and the blood is ruby red. Adam and Eve may have been medium-brown-skinned people. As progenitors of mankind, they were able to produce people are all skin colors from the very fair to the very dark and lived almost 1000 years to be able to do so. Some of these religious people must not believe that or weren't taught. If they don't believe that, they must be followers of Social Darwinism
like Hitler, Mussolini, and David Duke.

Today's Bad Joke

Before I tell it, I want to let you know that I grew listening to pop and rock music, which includes Michael Jackson. I never have believed he was "Wacko." As an American and as someone who is not much of a dancer, the influence I get in regards to pop culture comes right from watching Michael Jackson. Also, SC Gov. Mark Sanford should resign! What a disgrace!

In this bad joke, the Lord God plays a genie, and this can be blasphemous in many faiths. So, here goes:

"Farrah Fawcett passed away to be with the Lord. She met God and God granted her one wish and one wish only. Farrah said, 'I wish for every child in the world to be safe.'"

"Her wish was in God's Command. So, he zapped at the world. BOOM!"

"Michael Jackson dies."

The Jackson haters never know when to give it up.

For Today

Many people I know are shocked over the Michael Jackson's death and I am rather shocked, too. I was hoping for his musical comeback, but he will always be remembered for me as the guy who performed the moonwalk, who can excite a large crowd who loved his music, for his music I liked the most that was recorded during the 70s and 80s, and for his flamboyance. He never did experience a normal childhood, so he tried to relive his childhood as an adult. The attacks he received from that Dung Hill called the Murdoch Tabloid Media were very unfair to him and this was one of the aspects that imprisoned him. Bad doctors, and nobody to treat him right away at the UCLA Medical Center. I don't know what to make of it. If he were in my hometown and this same situation happened to him, he may be still alive today at the ICU at Sparks. He was drugged up like Elvis, but the only difference was the type of drugs. Jackson was juiced up with pain medication. He had a doctor living inside his home who is a drug pusher. I believe he would have been better off with a pet instead. He had become one of many celebrities who died too soon. I can list a few of them.

Manuel Acuña, Mexican writer and poet
Marilyn Monroe
Jimi Hendrix
Janis Joplin
Anna Nicole Smith
Elvis Presley
Buddy Holly
John Belushi
Andy Kaufman
John Candy
Curt Kobain
Chris Farlow
The list goes on and on.

I like what the Rev. Al Sharpton adds to the memory of Michael Jackson. He is the Jackie Robinson of world-wide fame in the entertainment scene. He is the most popular figure in all the world and everywhere around the world, people are paying their condolences and making a tribute with respect for the life of Michael Jackson.

Interesting Day

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson has died. Also, Farrah Fawcett, a Charlie's Angel, lost her fight against cancer. Stop the Press, no coverage of the Iranian Protests for now. Hardball and the Ed Show were interrupted by the news that Michael Jackson lost his breath, was taken to the UCLA Medical Center, and later has died. This is quite shocking. The music I liked the best from him was from his album, "Thriller." He went through a lot. He was a great singer who had a broad musical, singing range. Never did I believe he was a child molester, even though he needed to be more careful when he is around children. There is not much more to say about this, but he will be missed. This unfortunately has occurred just when he was attempting to make a rebound in his musical career with a world tour in order to pay off his debts.

Farrah Pawcett was every young boy's dream back she was a Charlie's Angel. Her poster can be seen on every teenage boy's bedroom wall across this great country. I grew up liking her. I had hope she would win this fight for her life. It was not to be.

Very devoutly religious people will judge them and say they did not make it to Heaven or Paradise (Jannah). This is not for me to judge. I personally do believe they are in Heaven, but God is the One who decides.

Wow, I got my answer today!

Yesterday, I asked the question "What was Gov. Sanford excuse?" and man, was I in for a surprise, but he is a politician so, I am not surprised, except for the fact that he went away to Argentina to cheat on his wife and not spend Father's Day with the kids. Must I go on with this? MSNBC has been playing this all day long. This is the same man, who as a congressman, wanted Pres. Clinton impeached and convicted for his extra-marital affair. Now, after 10 years, the shoe is on the other foot. The corny song that Madonna sang is "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina." Gov. Sanford's song and dance is "Crying Over Argentina." He went to do the tango and other things with another woman and somehow, he is going to overcome this? Enough about '12, please! I am already had it up to my eyeballs over Election '12, which is turning out to be omen for Republicans. And what's up with the young girls smiling and giggling behind the scene when the SC Governor was having his Jimmy Swaggert moment? Do they know something we don't know? Is there more to this story? Did somebody pin a tail on the Governor's rear end? There is no doubt he did not spend his own money to travel to Argentina and back. SC taxpayers foot the bill. No stimulus for those people who are unemployed, which stands at 13% in that state and no funding for schools that badly need repair. Gov. Sanford is definitely out of the presidential running and may not complete his term as governor. He makes Blagoyevich look like a statesman by far!

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

What was SC Gov. Sanford's excuse?

You know, last Sunday was Father's Day and most of us got to spend time with our fathers or if you are a father yourself, you spent quality time with your kids. What was Gov. Sanford doing? Why was he away from his office since last Thursday? What was his excuse? It was to spend time alone; to get away from the kids! He went hiking on the Appalachian Trail! Well, there goes all this talk about "family values" the GOP goes on about defending! Well, there won't be none of this ridiculous talk about him running for President in '12. I hope the Grand Oil Party keeps shooting themselves in the foot. I wish the Dems would learn to stand up, act like they have a pair, and call the shot for Pres. Obama like a majority party should with health care reform and the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA).

Does former Miss California deserve our prayers?

She took a stand. She spoke out against same-sex marriage. She took a hit from the media and the gay community over her stand. She did not win Miss USA over her stand and later on, lost her Miss California crown. If it was all she did by stating an unpopular opinion especially from California, I would say yes, she deserves prayers.

But, and there is this doubt in my mind. What about all of those semi-nude pictures of herself? Did that by itself cause her to lose her crown? I see some hypocrisy here. If she is a born-again Christian, as she claims she is, then why would she pose for these pictures? A beautiful woman like her, who is a Christian, posing nude pictures as these opinions were made known to the public. Many men see these pictures and are, at this very moment, thinking about her as I write. I have to admit. She is not like Heidi from "I'm a Celebrity. Get Me Outta Here!" Heidi and Spenser, the obnoxious couple from that show, who were kicked off the show, are the worse examples of devout, religious people I have even seen or witness on the tube! They get dunked and then they say they found Jesus! Heidi, as the great Mother Theresa she has become, is planning to pose for Playboy this fall, claiming that she is "the upbeat version of Mother Theresa." No, she is a big hypocrite! Again, she would have wolves lusting after her like they still do for Kim Kardashian. I say, "go Al Roker!"

Heidi and what is her name, Parjean? can never convince me to pray for them, except for their salvation and maybe to quit being such hypocrites as they have been with their lusty photos I don't need to see.

Obama's Approach on Iran

I support his approach to the situation in Iran. People there are not happy with the election results, so they are taking it to the streets. Coverage of the events are getting more and more restricted all the time, with news outlets relying on cell phone videos to get an idea what is going on. The president is staying quiet about this, while the GOP on the other hand along with John McCain, are quick to denounce the ruling regime, making the same mistake politicians did back in the 1950s when Mossadegh was replaced by the Shah. Iran is a sovereign nation and the president said that it is up to the Iranian people to decide what they want. For the first time in a long time, the USA is acting more civilized under Obama's leadership. And like they say at the local Fox 24 station, "it's about time!"

SC GOP Chair Makes Gorilla Comment about First Lady

It has been a while since I have written in this blog. But, I have reading articles from AOL, the Huffington Post, and others over this stupid comment made as a joke in reference to Michelle Obama. I find it was undeserved and uncalled for. Many bloggers argue, "What about Letterman?! What about Lettermen?!' Well, what about him. David Letterman is not a politician, he is not the head chair of a state or a national political party committee; he is a comedian/TV personality who makes fun of everyone. His comment about Sarah Palin's daughter at a Yankees baseball stadium was a bit much. He was not only taking a shot at Bristol, even though it was Willow at the game, he was aiming his target at Alex Rodriguez as well. It was very raunchy. But, again he's no politician. DePass, on the other hand, is and his comment may bring him down and certainly the South Carolina GOP's outreach to minority voters has now faltered with DePass's gorilla reference to the First Lady. I can't understand what she has done to deserve this. She's different, I guess. She is the first African-American First Lady. There are some in the GOP who don't like it. Many Democrats are sitting back and enjoying this GOP slide to almost non-existence. But, we still need a strong two-party system. Is the GOP going away like the Federalists did? Who could be the next party opposing the Democrats? The Green Party from the left? The Libertarian Party further from the right on economics, but on the left of social issues? Could Sarah Palin be the next presidential candidate for the GOP in 2012? If she is, it could be history for the GOP in politics.

Domestic Terrorism on the Rise

Three of them I have here listed.

The shooting down of an abortion doctor, Dr. Tiller, by a man named Scott Roeder at the church Tiller attended. (Wichita)

The shooting down of a recruiter and a private, enlisted soldier by a man named Abdul Hakim Muhammad (Carlos Bledsoe) in Little Rock.

And A guard shot down by an old white supremacist, Von Brunn at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.

The Dept. of Homeland Security had it right all along and there has been a rise of extremist terrorism since the election of Barack Obama to the presidency.

I have just read a thread of views at Liberaland and under the Van Brunn post is a couple of nut cases claiming Pres. Obama is not a citizen. My feeling about this is that certainly, Obama is an American citizen born in the great state of Hawaii. Also, to hell with what Rush, Hannity, Alex Jones, Savage, et al all have to say in order to tear down America and Obama's presidency. The media gives them too much publicity and for them to just quietly go away is for the media to stop mentioning them and giving them a podium and to give us some real news. There's a possibility that Ahmadinejad may be defeated from office in Iran. Don't these right-wing nut jobs realize that the speech Pres. Obama gave in Cairo may have sealed the deal to influence the Iranian people to vote Ahmedinejad out of office? Lebanon has elected a pro-American leader. To hell with what these tea baggers have to say about that!

Five Rules For Men

(1) It's important to have a woman, who helps at home, who cooks from time to time, cleans up, and has a job.

(2) It's important to have a woman who can make you laugh.

(3) It's important to have a woman, who you can trust and who doesn't lie to you.

(4) It's important to have woman, who is good in bed and who likes to be with you.

(5) It's very, very important that these four woman do not know each other.

Twitter-ing keeps me more informed

I signed up for Twitter and already I have a group of people following me. I learned how deceptive both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity really are, painting Pres. Obama as the enemy and as a leader cozying up to terrorists. These guys are twisted and who are trying to fool? They are fooling those who want social engineering back in the government just like it was back during Prohibition. I do not listen to their radio shows since I work in those hours. Thank God! Alhumdulillah! These guys are always hoping to find people who don't read anything at all that listen to talk radio. They have always catered to the lowest common denominator, getting them upset and riled up, and to those who are not of the LCD, they are scaring elderly women and men and traveling salespeople with misinformation. I am thankful there are those from Media Matters and Fox Hounds who are following me and I, following them, keeping me informed on what these Father Coughlin wannabes are up to.

I'm back

I'm back and I don't Twitter, but I have started a Twitter page. I was gone all week from home and a lot has happened when I was gone. President Obama moves fast. One day he was in Cairo making his speech to the Muslim world, and the next time I see him he is at Normandy, France. He drives his critics crazy and this is what I like about him. By the time that stupid Senator Inhofe makes his comment about Obama wondering "what side he is on," the President is already in France before Inhofe blinks. But, I am concerned about rising unemployment as we get into the summer season, Normally, at the this time when the economy was good, the spending habits of American consumers shoot up at a very high peak. They are traveling, they are also working longer hours and overtime. There is not much of that going on this year. I don't have much more to say at this point. I am still getting over a backache I received during the time off. I am getting over it. I am still young enough to do get this passed me.

"Lazarus" by Silva

There is nothing I see that is Biblical about this prose and there is nothing in other religious texts, such as the Qu'ran that contains this piece of writing. I believe the writer who originally wrote this is named "Silva." I don't know for sure. I have copied it into a notebook, which I have kept for a long time.

"- Come, Lazarus. - shouted the Savior. And from the black tomb the corpse rose from revolt among the shroud, trying to walk, to tremulous passes, he sniffed, he groped, he looked at, he felt, he gave a shout and cried contently.

"Four moons much later, among the shadows of the dark twilight, in silence from place and time, among the tumbs of the old cemetery,
"Lazarus was sobbing to the lonely and was envying the dead."

Various Things

I have a Yahoo Group called "Ethnic And Cultural Studies" and a friend of mine who is a member sends messages to it and suddenly I am now getting e-mail telling me that his messages may be "possible spam." What I end up doing is approving the messages. His messages are not about visiting web cams, porn sites, or how you receive millions of dollars from Nigeria. It is about culture, ancient artifacts, and about archaeology. I guess the trouble with him right now and I don't mean to offend him in any way and he means well is the fact that he has nothing else to do in his life right now but to send messages and articles to various blogs and Yahoo groups. I don't know if he has a job. I know he has started to write and publish his own books. I have helped him out on an occassion to sell his books on Amazon.com . These books are fictional novels based on pre-Islamic Arabian life. One of them is "Ilat." I am hoping and praying he finds other things to do during the day other than posting messages. I don't know why he does this. Is it because he is trying to educate the web-blogging public in his own way? For those of us who are members of one or two Yahoo groups and he is also a member of them, too, we often get a great deal of information overload from him and who can keep it all straight. He does so at "Babel" where he post many messages on paleontology. There are not that many people who are interested in dinosaur bones or brontasaurus bones, or what have you. He was at one time warned by the owner of the group that if he only posted those types of messages, the membership would drop significantly. This is something he don't seem to understand. Also, his posting in general has exhausted me to the point where I have very little interest in the internet. So, what's a group owner to do?

For those who are not in the "know"

The name of the latest Supreme Court nominee, chosen by Pres. Obama, is Sonia Sotomayor. Say it after me, "So - to - my - yor." It is not hard to say as some guy mentioned on Keith Olbermann's show made it out to be. What if John McCain were president and he picked the same woman as his pick for the Supreme Court? Would she catch as much crap from the right as she is right now as the Obama appointee? My answer is no. This is a clear case of political expediency if you ask me.

"To Roosevelt" from Rubén Darío (English Translation)

This is a prose from Nicaraguan poet and writer Rubén Darío directed to Teddy Roosevelt, written not long after the end of the Spanish-American war. If you want to read as it is written in Spanish, log onto El Blog de Gunter .

"To Roosevelt"

"It is with the voice of the Bible, or the verse of Walt Whitman, that would have to come to you, O Hunter!

"Primitive and modern, simple and complicated, with a little something from Washington and four from Nemrod!

"You are the United States,
You are the future invader of the ingenuous America that has Indian blood, that still prays to Jesus Christ and that still speaks Spanish.

"You are a sovereign and a strong example of your race;
you are cultured, you are skillful; you oppose Tolstoy.
And with riding horses or killing tigers, you are an
Alexander-Nebuchadnezzer. (You are a professor of Energy,
so as the nuts of today say.)

"You believe life is a fire (conflagration),
that progress is an eruption;
that where you put your bullet,
is where you hold the future.

"No.

"The United States is big and powerful.
When they tremble, there is a deep quake that passes by
the enormous vertebrae of the Andes.
"If you clamor, one can hear the roar of the lion.
"Hugo already told this to Grant: 'The stars are yours.'
"(Hardly shining, rising in revolt, the Argentine sun and
the Chilean star rising up...)
"You are rich.
"You are next to the worship of Hercules, the worship of
Mammon; and enlightening the road of an easy conquest.
"Liberty lifts up her torch in New York.

"But our America, that has poets from the ancient times of
Netzahualcoyotl, that had kept the footprints of the Great
Baco,
"In one time she learned the panic alphabet,
she consulted the stars, she knew Atlantis,
whose name resounding in Plato came to us, that
since the remote moments of her life live from light,
from fire, from perfume, from love, the America of the
Great Montezuma, the Great Inca, the fragrant America
of Christopher Columbus, Catholic America, Spanish America,
the America in what the noble Cuautémoc said: 'I am not in
a bed of roses'; this America that trembles from hurricanes
and that live from love; of men with eyes of Saxons and
with a barbarous soul lives. A
"And dreams. And loves, and vibrates; and is the child of the
Sun.
"You be careful. Love live Spanish America! There are a thousand
loose cubs from the Spanish Lion. Roosevelt would need to be by the
very same God; the terrible Rifleman and the strong Hunter,
so he can have us in your iron claws.

"And so, you counted all in all, lacking one thing:
God!

"Ancestrial Poem in Nuptial Praise" by Julio Herrera y Reissig (English Translation)

"With bubbles of Brahmanic unctions
opened your bed of Spring,
before a lubricated rite of panthers
and an erection of male symbols...

"At the tragic brilliance of the hatchets
waved the dance of the ballerinas from
India among the apotheosis of Flags
and from a thunderous sinister of lions...

"Burned the poem in nuptial praise of
your passing a hymn of shining trumpets...
Over my heart, the priests from Xerxes

"Unctioned your sandal, the urn of satin,
at a time when a hundred white elephants
twisted their trunks towards the sunset."

"Immortality" by Amado Nervo (English Translation)

"No, the story of our love was not
so ephemeral: among the smooth folios
of the virginal book of your memory,
as blue petals are the suffering, noble
and caste-like glories of my verses.

"You cannot forget me; I condemn you
to a tenacious souvenir. My love
has been the highest point of your life,
the best; and only between the mud and
the smile, there surges the pale lotus
of the forgotten.

"You will see me wherever, in the uncertain
nightfall, in the golden dawn;
and when you labor in the deserted corridor,
while the monotonous threads of rain
tremble in your orchard.

"You will have to remember! This is
my inheritance that my pain has given you,
that nothing is spellbound.
"You will be at the lighted top of your
existence, and an ineffable reproach
in your conscience and an immortal trail
inside your soul!"

"I promise" by Julián del Casal (English Translation)

"Under the canopy of a gigantic rock
the Titan rested, like Christ in Calvary,
marmoreal, indiferent, and solitary,
without the howl coming out of his mouth.

"He takes his naked foot in the large rock,
where the bloodthirsty vulture is in agony
that neither his visionary eye attracts
nor compasion in his courage or spirit provokes.

"Listening to the boiling of the foams
that melts in the tall rocks,
seen from his redemption strange lights,

"Next to another vulture with snow-capped feathers,
black pupils and ivory-like claws
that have extinguished itself the thirst in its soul."

Sum...by Rubén Darío (English translation)

"I am in God what I am
and my being is the will
that, persevering today,
exist in eternity.

"Four horizons from abyss
have my reasoning, and
the abyss that has more feeling
is what I feel about myself.

"There is an enlightened point
in my village of illusion:
The elephant's tower next to
the peacock's kiosk.

"Still the meek subjugates me
as if it gilds my desire.
The turtle's shell tells me of
the pain of Orpheus.

"Good roses, tidy lyrics,
crazy from so much to ignore,
I am going to make myself shout
at the verge of the sepulchers.

"Lord, let my faith die!
Lord, look at my pain.
Misery! Misery!
Give me your hand, Lord!

"For a Menu" by Manuel Gutiérrez Nájera (English Translation)

"For a Menu"

"The past sweethearts are empty cups;
in them we put in a little love;
We take the nectar ....the days fly by...
Bring in other cups with new liquor!

"Champagne is the ruby of skinned azaleas;
Burgundy, the lips of red, red wine;
Dark eyes are the wines from Italy,
The green and white ones are the wines from
the Rhine!

"The mouths of scarlet color are moist strawberries,
The black pupils serves as coffee,
Blue eyes appear as railroad tie flames.
What tremblings run as souls from tea!

"The cup males haste, the joy drowns,
from a gulp or sip, we drink women and liquor...
We leave the cups...If one drop remains,
Let the lackey or servile person drink the riffraff of love!

From "This is My God" by Herman Wouk

"The Chosen People"

pp. 33-34 - "It is the Holy Bible that so describes the Jews. THe quotations run into the thousands. The theme rules Scripture. Here are the verses at ramdom from the book which most of the Western world takes in one sense or another as the oracles of God:
Genesis 12:
"...God said to Abram, Go from your country, your birthplace, your father's house, to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation - ...and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed..."

Exodus 19:
"...Now therefore if you will truly obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you will be a peculiar treasure to me of all the peoples, for all the earth is mine. And you shall be for me a nation of priests, and a holy people..."

Isaiah 49:
"...And I will give you as the light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth..."

"Christianity accepts this view of Jewish destiny and rests on it. An important Christian doctrine (as I understand it) is that Jesus broadened this chosen communion to include all those who believed in his divinity and followed his teachings. For this reason, an accepted Christian name for the church is 'The New Israel.' Christianity added one vital point: those who did not enter the new communion risked, or in some views actually incurred, eternal damnation.
"But this idea of salvation limited to one group never had any place in the Jewish faith and has no place in it today. In Judaism, right conduct is the path to God. This path lies open to Jews and non-Jews. (Practiced during Abraham's time)
"It was, and it (monotheism) is, the universal, ethical religion of right-thinking man." (Not an origination of the Jews)
"...Our tradition has it that Job, the supreme figure of the man of faith in agony, was of the righteous of the world, and not a Jew."

Herman Wouk wrote a great book.

Reflections

Mother's Day was observed both here in the U.S. and in Mexico. My mother passed away almost 19 years ago. This is the time I remember her the most and it would have been nice to see her again. I imagine it will be when I go to the great beyond. She was always the one I've turned to when I was having many problems or when I got into trouble. She was always there. I remember the vacation trips, the Christmas dinners, Thanksgiving at Uncle Billy's. It is a time I can never get back. I miss it. But, for me, I still have my father, and I ate Mother's Day dinner with him. Also, I celebrated Mother's Day for all of those who still have mother in their lives and for the mothers themselves. It is best to hold on to your mother as much as you can while you sill have her in you life. Without her, it will take a long while to recover and to live life normal again. She fills that empty void. She's the fabric that keeps the family together. Because the family I am part of now are mere satellites anymore. They are broken apart, even while we still have father and this is unfair to father. Please, do not ever let Mother's Day be a sad occassion and while you still have her, be with her on that day. Do more than write a letter or send a card. Take the time to be with her when you have the chance!

Islam Day proclaimed in Hawaii

I am afraid Hawaii made a big mistake. Too many Americans misunderstand the religion and when they think about Islam, they think about al_Qaida and the Taliban. It is a mistake for the state of Hawaii to pass this resolution to celebrate this day this coming September. Already, many Hawaiians are expressing outrage over this and the loud right-wing talk show hosts are already yelling and unfortunately, this is where many evangelical Christians get most of their information nowadays if anyone would call it that. Many of them will go to church on Sunday and hear about what Hawaii did and then, put the blame on Democrats and Pres. Obama for not protecting the country and for not looking out for our best interest. It is a bad call for Hawaii although it was for good intentions; to inform Americans about the history of Islam and the contributions Muslims have made throughout history. But, all of this will be thrown out of the way and what we will hear instead is more hate and disgust and more about 9/11, something the American people will never get over, blaming many innocent people for what a few jerky guys did and killing themselves while doing it. Also, concerns for religion and state separation has been violated by this act. What if they wanted a National Catholic Day or a National Protestant Day, or a Hindu Day? How about a Sikh Day?

On Michael Savage

I have just read on the Rude Pundit blog that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will not let right-wing talk show host Michael Savage into their country. Reason: He fosters extremism and hate. Well, indeed he does. He scapegoats Mexican citizens as the blame for the Swine flu as it has been called. He calls people all kind of names. He calls Rosie O'Donnell "Rosie O'Dumbell", He calls anybody left of center "red diaper, doper babies." The UK will not let him in as a result. Hmm..I wish there was a way to kick him out of these United States of America! There's no telling what he calls President Obama. I haven't listened to his show for years, and from the looks of it, I haven't missed anything from it.

Not a Happy Cinco de Mayo

I can't wish everyone a Happy Cinco de Mayo, because we know it's not. The H1N1 virus, the shutting of tourism in Mexico, life as we know it shut down in Mexico; so, as a result, this is not a Happy Cinco de Mayo in Mexico and/or here in the United States.
So, no wish for one this year. I have a Spanish blog I've just started last month and it is a shame to not wish everyone reading a happy Cinco de Mayo. No historical reference to it; nothing. But, maybe next year I will get the opportunity to do so.

The Hong Kong Affair

Seventy Mexicans have been picked out in Hong Kong and quarantined in a locked-up building in Hong Kong, China. I write about this because it seems to me that the Chinese decided to single out an ethnic group of people visiting China in concern over the spread of the H1N1 virus. Do all of these 70 individuals have this flu? Or were they just singled out because the virus came out of Mexico? I heard that the virus originated in Veracruz, Mexico. As the saying goes in Mexico, "if it came through Veracruz, it came from somewhere else." Anything and anybody foreign in Mexico came through the port of Veracruz. The explorer, Hernan Cortez, landed in Mexico at Veracruz. This is a prime example that goes with the saying. The Mexican authorities are looking to get these 70 people back to Mexico. I would have to agree, the Chinese
were using discriminating measures against a group of tourists thinking they were preventing the virus from spreading. Where these Chinese authorities don't seem to get it is that the virus does not come from a pig or from an ethnic group of people just because the virus originated from there. You get it from the air like the average cold. And to prevent from getting it is to cover your mouth where you sneeze or cough and wash your hands regularly and thoroughly just like you would to prevent from getting a cold. What I hate to see is for people blaming a country and its people for it if someone comes down with it. Is it necessary to shut down Mexico's tourism industry over this? Would shutting down the U.S.-Mexico border be the thing to do? If these things are done, you can't keep it from spreading.

Religion and State Separation

The separation of church and state is really what made this country great.

In 1777, Thomas Jefferson drafted a bill to the House of Delegates of Virginia called "the Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom." This bill was adopted by the Virginian legislature in 1786 after years of effort with James Madison's help. It was a bill that went beyond John Locke's policy of toleration and enacted complete religious freedom not only of all Christian groups but of all religious opinions whatsoever, including, in Jefferson's words, "the Jew, the Mahometan, and the Hindoo." One of the following reasons why he argued for religious freedom was because the "Almighty God hath created the mind free" and "free it shall remain." He spoke out against enforcing religious uniformity by "temporal punishments" or "civil incapacitations" because it was doomed to failure. He believed it was against God's plan through the influence of reason. He believed it was "sinful and tyrannical" to force a man or a woman to support a religion "which he disbelieves and abhors." He believed it was as foolish to penalize a citizen for his religious opinions as for his ideas of science or education depriving him of his "natural right." He thought the religious establishment was bad when it is combined with the federal or state government. A church was a "voluntary society," and a person "should be se free to go out as he was to come in."

In 1787, the Founding Fathers met in Philadelphia for a constitutional convention.
They drafted a written constitution for the people of the USA. In that Constitution, there is only one specific use of the word religion and it is in Article 6, Section 3.
It states that all senators, representatives, members of state legislatures, all executive and judicial officers, both federal and state shall be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution. It also says "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

Lastly, Alexis de Tocqueville believed the people's fervor for God in the churches was what made America great. It was our religious freedom that made us great and he discovered that the clergy and the laity "all contributed the peaceful dominion of religion in their country mainly to the separation of church and state."

Archie Bunker Lives On

The character played by Carroll O'Connor lives on in our minds. At least, for some of us. I hate receiving spam mail. The more of I have, the more I would like to give up this use of technology. Some people from work received a spam mail containing a joke. It was very Archie Bunkereque. Someone makes this statement. "We will have a black president when pigs fly!" Now, we do have a black president. The conclusion is, "We now have a black president and we have swine flu." Some folks find this funny, but I'm not laughing. The mail was received by many at work and this joke is told throughout McCainland. Those who find it funny find Archie Bunker to be a bit old fashion and not actually a bigot. But, to this day, bigoted jokes are found to be funny and Vaudeville could just very well make a comeback in areas of the deep South and mountain West. TVLand still gets big ratings with re-runs like "All in the Family," but at the same time are concerned about an increasingly aging demographic who continues to watch their network, a part of Viacom.
Scapegoating Mexican immigrants with the swine flu seems to be the rule of day for Congressional Republicans and the Fox News Channel. A baby dies in the hospital and there are no condolences for the family of that baby who died from the H1N1 virus. I was told by a Fox News viewer that we will soon have virus cases here in Arkansas "because we have so many Mexican people with their relatives." As far as what I noticed, most of the cases are at one Catholic school in New York. None of them are Latino or Mexican nationals. Of course, no cases are found in Ark. so far. But, that don't mean we won't have. Some people still find that Chinese, Japanese, Dirty Knees, Look at These joke to be extremely funny. So much so, they fall off their chairs. I've seen this joke told by young Asians on YouTube. Now, I thought that may be funny. But, when I have seen it, my reaction was "WTF?!" So far, this message is written by a real meathead. I bleed my heart red with liberalism, or is it blue? And the Archie Bunkers out there are after our meathead president telling us who his nominee to the Supreme Court will be; "a left-wing activist judge." Roe v. Wade won't be overturned now! Gee, why didn't they turned it over anyway? Look who former Pres. Bush appointed. They could have dared to be different and overturned it.
They had the votes. Oh, it was just a political game the GOP was playing with its rightist base. This is who the Archie Bunkers of this country supports, but they never deliver. They hope the Dems will fail so that they can get back into power as they shrink to oblivion. All they left is the jokers who tell these jokes and an audience who listens to them.

What Kind of Democrat Will Arlen Spector Be?

People from the liberal end of the political spectrum are skeptical of Sen. Spector in his new role as a Democrat. I can't blame them. He does not support the Employee Free Choice Act and he does not support the nomination of Dawn Johnson as Assistant Attorney
General. But, he has voted for Pres. Obama's Stimulus Bill. He was only one of three Republicans who did in the Senate. As a Democrat in Pennsylvania, he has the chance to be re-elected to the Senate next year with full support from the President and the Democratic Party. But, there is no guarantee he will be part of that 60-vote block the Democrats need. There are two senators from Arkansas who don't always vote along with the party for fear of Wal-Mart, the business interest and the farming interest turning against them. Sen. Blanche Lincoln does not support EFCA. So, the change that Sen. Arlen Spector made will not change a thing. EFCA may still end up getting killed in the Senate and never to make it to Pres. Obama's desk to sign it into law. Health care reform and the right for workers to from a union are reality if the Democrats don't blow it. The Republicans are fading into Southern extreme land and what an opportunity the Democrats have to bring single payer health care to the American people and better jobs for more working Americans to become part of the middle class again. Don't blow it!

The Bridge Builder

"An Old Man, going a lone highway,
Came at evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The Old Man crossed in the twilight dim
That sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when he reached the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"'Old Man' said a fellow pilgrim near,
'You are wasting strength in building here.
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way.
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide,
Why build you a bridge at the eventide?'

"The builder lifted his old gray head.
'Good friend, in the path I have come,' he said,
'There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him.'"

The Old Man's Stew

There was an old man from Arkansas,
Who lived on beer and cole slaw -
So much for his energy -
Those from the clergy
Say if he doesn't stop, he will flaw.

He likes to go to the Midtown Bar;
He travels there in his car -
This is where he fades
Until the night invades,
Drinking from a jar above par.

He used to be very smart,
Just as much as Mozart -
So much for his abuse
Not including his excuse,
He acts as if he's been split apart.

How much booze can one carry,
He spends time there six days a week,
For the rest of his life he seeks
To spend his precious time
Way passed his prime,
It's a wonder he stands on his own two feet.

Alcohol is the old man's foe
Now he has become another John Doe,
Instead he should be out fishing
Rather than inside drinking,
Enjoying a waly day at the voe.

But the old man has got to have his stew,
Enough so he could smell the morning dew,
He has these hunches
To drink bunches
To please the very few.

He still attends the bar,
Drinking from a jar,
With plenty of beer
Without a good career,
As a retired professor who no longer sees the stars.

Afro-Ecuadorians battle against racism 23 Apr 09

This is one tremendous report that is not covered on the major American networks.

The Ed Show: Leo Gerard on the Need for a U.S. Manufacturing Base

Save the Auto Industry! We must not let it shut down!
Save the appliance industry! We have seen more good jobs in this industry go to places like Mexico and China! Pres. Obama, we voted for change and we want it now! A country like our without a strong manufacturing base cannot stand!

Should the Bush team be prosecuted now?

My view is that, yes, they should be prosecuted, but not now. There is too much on Pres. Obama's plate, like the economy, the environment, health care, the two wars, a possible Taliban takeover of Islamabad according to Al-Jazeera English; it can backfire on him. If he gets too far to the left and pursues this, it could strengthen the GOP and looking at what they have right now, God help us all! I personally want the economy to pick up and start climbing back again. People I know who have been laid off from their jobs are people I like to see return back to their jobs. This is the issue with me right now. Do these things first and then, later on, see about doing a prosecution.
Of course, it is up to Atty. Gen. Eric Holder to pursue the prosecution, but for those on the left, don't get your hopes up and don't be surprised if he doesn't pursue this. People out there are still hurting. Some of them show up at tea-bagging rallies who, otherwise, would be more supportive of the new administration if they didn't lose their job. It sounds like to me that the President may need to do more traveling here in this country to see what is going on with the people instead of going overseas to meet with leaders nobody here wants to have anything to do with. I'm just saying. I voted for Obama and I still support him, but he, as president, could risk losing his Democratic Congress like Clinton and face two terms dealing with gridlock and not get nothing done in regards to health care, the environment, alternative energy, creating jobs, etc., if he steps in too soon to prosecute the Bush team. Do it much later.
